Our Guest

Jamila & Bob Davey
Jamila & Bob are activists from Albuquerque that are founding members of
The Coalition for International Peace and Equality.

Topic Background
Grant County Peace Coalition joined in the Silver City 4th of July Parade for the second year with the theme of "Practicing Peace."  In planning our participation we wanted to include not only a broad segment of the Peace and Justice community but reach out to the larger P&J community in the state.  Bob & Jamila were part of a contingent of people from Albuquerque from a number of groups that joined us along with people from Las Cruces where there is also a very active P&J presence.  We discuss the parade itself, the larger issues that face our country, and threats to our freedom from without and within.

This interview was recorded on 3 July 2004 following the parade.
