Grant County Peace Coalition

Second Annual Silver City
Peak Oil/Climate Change Conference

Understanding the Present, Planning for the Future

Grant County Peace Coalition and several community organizations and activists have joined forces to bring you the

Second Annual
Silver City Peak Oil / Climate Change Conference.

This multi-day event wil take place at the
Silco Theater  - 311 N Bullard Street in Silver City

Friday 12 January through Sunday 14 January, 2007

with a special feature presentation
Oil & Gas Drilling in the West on Thursday 11 January.

Peak Oil is the point in time when world oil production begins to decline... Forever.  The consequences of this will change the way we live... Forever.

Various studies project that this pivotal event will occur by 2010 but it may have happened already.  Are you all ready?

The conference is organized around several video presentations on large screen by the foremost analylsts and scholars of this issue along with live presentations by local and guest speakers.  The experts in the videos spoke at a national conference earlier this year and each video will be followed by your discussion, questions, and ideas on how we can address this imminent and inevitable occurance.

Admission is free to all events and GCPC wishes to thank

GRIP / Gila Resources Information Project

for their support as well as Silver City Main Street Project and all the supporting groups for their assistance.  Your donations at the door will be appreciated and allow us to continue to present important events like this.
